Questions and answers

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Can't find yours? Ask in the chat or call us.

General

Can you insure me if I have tickets, an accident or a new license?

In most cases, yes. Driving history changes the price, not whether we can help. Call or stop by and an agent will go over your options.

Do I have to come to the office?

No. You can start a quote online or by phone and finish everything by phone or email. You're also welcome to walk in during office hours.

How do I make a payment or change my policy?

Call (888) 400-4004 during office hours or visit us. We can take payments, add or remove drivers and vehicles, and send proof of insurance.

What are your hours?

Mon to Fri, 9am to 7pm. Walk-ins are welcome at 1905 S Western Ave, Suite 19, Los Angeles, CA 90018.

Vehicles

Auto

What is the minimum car insurance in California?

Since 2025 the state minimum is $30,000 per person and $60,000 per accident for injuries, and $15,000 for property damage. Many drivers choose higher limits, and an agent will help you pick what fits.

What do I need to get a quote?

Your driver's license, the vehicle's year, make and model or VIN, and where it's parked. If you have a current policy, the declarations page helps us compare.

Can I get insured the same day?

Ask the office about your requested start date. Timing depends on the insurer, eligibility and completed requirements. Wait for confirmation that coverage is active before relying on it.

Motorcycle

Is motorcycle insurance required in California?

Yes. Every registered motorcycle needs at least liability insurance.

What do I need for a quote?

Your license with the motorcycle endorsement and the bike's year, make and model.

Classic car

Can I drive my classic car every day?

Classic policies usually limit daily use. If you drive it often, a regular auto policy may fit better. An agent can compare both.

RV and motorhome

Do travel trailers need their own policy?

Liability usually follows the vehicle towing it, but damage to the trailer itself needs its own coverage. An agent will set it up.

Boat

Does my home policy cover my boat?

Only small boats and in limited amounts. Most boats need their own policy.

ATV and UTV

Does homeowners insurance cover my ATV?

Usually not once you ride it off your own property. A separate policy is the safer choice.

Commercial auto

When do I need commercial auto instead of personal?

When the vehicle is owned by a business, used mainly for work, carries tools or goods, or is driven by employees.

Home and property

Homeowners

Does my lender require homeowners insurance?

Yes. Lenders need proof of coverage before closing. Give the agent your lender and escrow details and we'll send the documents.

What is the difference between replacement cost and actual cash value?

Replacement cost pays what it costs to rebuild or replace today. Actual cash value subtracts depreciation, so it pays less for older items.

Renters

Does my landlord require renters insurance?

Many do. Check your lease. We can send proof of coverage to your landlord.

Can my roommate and I share a policy?

Usually each roommate needs their own policy. Some companies allow two people, so ask the agent.

Condo

How much coverage do I need for my unit?

It depends on what your HOA's master policy covers. Bring your HOA documents and an agent will help you choose.

Mobile home

What do I need for a quote?

The year, make and size of the home, where it's located, and whether it's on a foundation.

Flood

Do I need flood insurance if I'm not in a flood zone?

Many flood claims come from outside high risk zones, and heavy rain and mudslides happen across Southern California. Coverage outside high risk zones is often affordable.

Umbrella

Do I need an umbrella policy?

If you have savings or property to protect, or higher liability risks, it's worth considering. It usually costs much less than people expect.

Business

Business owners policy

Who is a BOP for?

Most small shops, offices, restaurants and service businesses.

General liability

Can you send a certificate of insurance to my client?

Yes. Current customers can call the office and we'll issue a certificate, including additional insureds.

Professional liability

Is this the same as general liability?

No. General liability covers injuries and property damage. Professional liability covers financial losses from your professional work.

Workers compensation

What happens if I don't carry workers comp?

California can fine you, stop your business from operating, and hold you responsible for the injured employee's costs.
